Project “Medusa I” (new construction in Dénia)
The geometric configuration of this house was governed by two main factors. On the one hand we started from the need to adapt to the natural unevenness of the land and, on the other, we had the clear intention of orienting each one of the plants in such a way that we achieved the visuals and perspectives that were most interesting according to the level. Given that the houses in this area are below street level we created a fold on the roof of the house that would generate skylights around the perimeter of the main area of the house and that would allow to take advantage of maximum controlled lighting throughout the day . The house was divided into two levels. The upper level houses the day areas (living room, dining room, kitchen, guest toilet and a large pantry) and gives access to several terraces where the pool, barbecue, solarium and parking are located. The ground floor is half-buried and includes the bedrooms and service rooms (laundry room and utility room). Even though the bedrooms have large windows and very good views of the port of Dénia, two interior patios were installed to give natural lighting and ventilation to the rest of the spaces.
